   What titles are displayed during the opening sequence?

    The first thing to pop up is New Line Cinema, which I'm guessing is the company or studio that made the film. After that comes Joel Schumacher who I'm assuming is the director. Names listed after that are what I'm assuming to be the main actors featured in the film. After that, the titles shown are casting, music, associate producer, costume designer, editor, production designer, cinematographer, co-producers, executive producer, producer, and who the movie was written by. 

 What images are prioritized in the opening sequence?

    A typewriter seems to be writing various dates, historical events, and math during the opening sequence. Blood also appears to be frequent in the opening sequence, however I'm not exactly sure what this means or points to since I haven't watched the movie yet myself.

 How does the film establish a feeling of the genre?

    I absolutely love this opening sequence. The film is about a man becoming obsessed with the number 23 due to the belief that it has some meaning that mirrors life. In the opening sequence, there's many small connections between the number 23 and historical events, for example: "Hiroshima Aug 6, 1945, 8+6+1+9+4+5=23." or  " The witches sabbath is June 23rd." I think this is such a great detail because it also drags the audience a little into the character's madness for this number. Having not yet watched the movie, even I was starting to believe 23 had some sort of meaning just from watching the title sequence.

Planning Blog | Title Design

FONT - The font I will be using will probably be a simple font such as " Helvetica " or " Montserrat ". I don't want to use something too techie-looking or fancy since this takes place in a somewhat casual and modern setting. COLOR - I might just do a simple white with some black outline to give contrast and have the titles easily seen. I may or may not end up doing something a little more exciting and less generic, but I'll play around with how it looks as I edit the opening sequence. TITLE - Since the story is meant to be about jealousy, I was thinking of calling it something like "Green" symbolizing an envious "Green-eyed monster" in folktales. If this ends up being the case, I'll probably add some more green into the titles and story to convey this subtly.
